Then came an interesting article in a quilting
magazine about "Picture Piecing". A technique that may be usefull for scenic or
portrait blocks in a 'Picture' quilt. |
Sure is a bunch of 'fussy' work with very small
pieces! |
But the end result is something that might be
incorporated into our planned 'US Tour' scenic quilt project. |
For Quilt Rush (an open house of 15 Quilt Shops
up & down the Sacramento Valley) we were on a quest for a variety of
flannel pieces to make a quilt for Jym's grand niece, Samatha. |
The pieces that were collected ended up as
"Stars for Samantha". |
Now that the top is finished, the last step is
quilting the sandwich. To be continued... |
Madly trying to complete an 'I Spy' quilt for
Eric so we can take it down with us when we go help Michael & Gayle
move. |
After finishing the binding on the drive down,
Ann got it finished on time! |
The back and label of the finished

We got involved in designing embroidered
patches for our riding club's logo. |
The result of our early attempts (revision

Ann got all of the blocks given to her from
Esther's Wednesday Quilting class incorporated into a quilt top. |
We experimented with embroidered designs for
the quilting. |
And continued playing with the embroidery

Then Ann started getting serious about
embroidering everything in sight. Gifts were a great excuse |
This quilt top was the result of a 'stack and
whack' class. It's still waiting for inspiration for the quilting motif - any
ideas? |
Jym couldn't let the house quilt alone and
designed a castle for the neighborhood. |
This quilt was made to cover (and insulate) a
fire door in our guest bedroom. |
As a going away gift (when we moved up to El
Dorado), Esther's Wednesday Quilting class presented Ann with sampler blocks
from each of the other students. Now all she has to do is incorporate them into
a quilt! |
Ann's first completed quilt was for our
granddaughter Alina's second birthday. |
Another baby quilt was done for Zoe, the first
child of her former boss. |
