DESCRIPTION: {native} This tiny colorful plant is one of sixty-three native Californian monkeyflowers per our botany bible, The Jepson Manual. This hairy model is 4 - 8" high with purple lips above a yellow-white throat and dark purple highlights.

HABITAT:Openings in chaparral, burns, disturbed areas .

NOTES: Finding this tiny 'belly flower' on a morning walk was a wonderful surprise. Fortunately we had the camera and notebook with us and took time to document our new species. (Lately our walks don't qualify as exercise - now we are watching for new plant to add to our list.)
